Seamer Gus Atkinson Adds to England's Fitness Problems.

'Significant concern' for the touring side as Atkinson goes off due to a hamstring issue.

The English seamer increased the injury concerns plaguing England when he left the ground on the second morning in the Melbourne Test in the Ashes series.

Atkinson felt a problem in his left hamstring immediately following a delivery of the fourth over on Saturday.

The touring camp reported the 27-year-old had experienced "tightness" and required time away from the action in order to be assessed "over the next few hours".

The series decider of the series at the SCG begins this coming Sunday.

The English side has previously lost fast bowlers one seamer with a knee problem and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on this Ashes tour.

Matthew Fisher was brought into the squad to provide backup.

His form was underwhelming early in the series, claiming a mere a handful of scalps.

He was omitted from the previous Test, only to be brought back for the Melbourne Test as Archer's replacement.

Atkinson improved at the MCG, bagging two scalps in Australia's first innings, before adding 28 as a batsman among just a trio of England players to get into double digits.

Following a brief spell in Australia's second innings, he resumed on Saturday morning and dismissed the nightwatchman Scott Boland caught behind.

However, towards the conclusion of his spell, he sent down a slower ball to Travis Head and promptly felt at his leg.

The English bowler returned to the side for the fourth Ashes Test having missed of the third.
