Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
