American performer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment since 2022, per news outlets.

"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
